The City of Vaughan is relocating the watermain along the north side of Portage Parkway, from Applewood Crescent to Millway Avenue. To minimize the impact of water disruptions, work will occur overnight and is scheduled to take place from Sunday, March 15 to Friday, March 20, weather permitting.
 

Water supply will temporarily be shut off at the following addresses according to the schedule below:
 

  • 705 Applewood Cres., between 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 15 and 5:30 a.m. on Monday, March 16
  • 207 Edgeley Blvd., between 10 p.m. on Monday, March 16 and 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17
  • 11 Buttermill Ave., between 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17 and 7 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18
  • 190 Millway Ave., between 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18 and 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 19
  • 100 Edgeley Blvd., between 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 and 7 a.m. on Friday, March 20

    • Work on Portage Parkway at Buttermill Avenue is scheduled to begin after construction on Millway Avenue is completed.

A temporary sewer bypass system has been installed along Millway Avenue to support the installation of the new sanitary sewer mainline and maintenance chambers along Portage Parkway. 

The bypass is expected to be in place until the end of January 2026. During this time, the following lane closures/reductions will be in effect:

  • Northbound lanes on Millway Avenue, between Apple Mill Road and Portage Parkway, are closed.
  • Southbound lanes on Millway Avenue, between Apple Mill Road and Portage Parkway, have been reconfigured to one lane in each direction.
  • There is no access to Bent Tree Drive from Millway Avenue (emergency vehicles only).
  • Access to the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Bus Terminal will be maintained. However, there is no parking along Millway Avenue in front of the terminal.

  • installing new sidewalks, curbs and cycle tracks.
  • paving and streetscaping work.
  • installing traffic signals at all intersections.

  • implementing detour plans to reduce traffic volumes.
