March is National Procurement Month
The City of Vaughan has proclaimed March National Procurement Month – a time to recognize the value of the procurement profession and its impact on society.
In October 2023, the City earned accreditation for Quality Public Procurement from The Institute for Public Procurement (NIGP). This accreditation extends for three years and expires in 2026. It recognizes excellence in public procurement and is presented to organizations that elevate the procurement profession's standard of practice and realize greater credibility and recognition for their procurement department. The City also received the 2023 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute. This is the sixth consecutive year the City has received this award, which is earned by organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score based on standardized criteria. The criteria are designed to measure innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement and leadership attributes of the procurement organization.
