Vaughan Council presented Giulia Morra with the Ward 1 Civic Hero award in 2007 for her involvement in community affairs and success as a volunteer in a variety of events impacting the growth and development of Vaughan.

The Maple resident and mother of three has been an active volunteer with the York Catholic District School Board, the Maple Santafest Parade, Vaughan in Motion to Cure Cancer, and has assisted the City of Vaughan Parks department on a number of cleanup initiatives in the community.
