Naseer Ahmad Vaugahn Civic Hero Award
Vaughan Council presented Mr. Naseer Ahmad with the Civic Hero Award for Ward 1 for his volunteer efforts in the community.

Mr. Ahmad was the driving force in the creation of the Peace Village, Canada’s first Islamic subdivision, and as a member of Vaughan Health Campus of Care has helped to bring a much needed hospital to Vaughan. He came to Canada from Pakistan over 30 years ago and received a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Ottawa’s Carleton University. He worked in advertising before helping his community build the Peace Village.
In 2009, Mr. Ahmad was named as one of the Top 25 Canadian Immigrants.
