64 deserving individuals receive prestigious award for their contributions

The City of Vaughan’s annual Volunteer Recognition Awards shine a spotlight on the outstanding contributions of local volunteers – including 64 people who made a significant difference in the community last year.

Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council recognized these dedicated individuals during the 2025 awards ceremony this evening at Vaughan City Hall (2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.). This event coincides with National Volunteer Week, which runs from April 27 to May 3, and is proclaimed annually by the City.

Earlier this year, non-profit organizations and community groups in Vaughan were encouraged to nominate one outstanding volunteer from 2024 whose passion and actions have made a positive impact on the community. Each winner received a certificate and lapel pin during last night’s ceremony.

The awards are presented to volunteers 13 years of age or older whose dedication to assisting others has been exceptional. The 2024 recipients were recognized for their generous community service in donating their time and energy to important causes, contributing to the success and quality of life in Vaughan and beyond.
