‘Fall’ into fun with Vaughan!
Making plans for fall? Get a head start and map out a season of fun with the City of Vaughan! The Fall Recreation eGuide is now available to view online and offers a variety of programs for residents of all ages and abilities to enjoy.
Registration for fall swim lessons and aquatic leadership programs start on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 7 a.m. at vaughan.perfectmind.com. Registration for fall recreation programs starts on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 7 a.m. at vaughan.perfectmind.com. All programs start on Saturday, Sept. 21.
With so many programs to choose from, here are some of the highlights:
- Family (parent and child): painting, toddler playtime, making music, Zumba, bootcamp with baby, body reshaping with baby, Pilates with baby, yoga, mindfulness, dance, learn to skate, learn to play tennis, archery, badminton and boot camp
- Preschool: drawing, arts and crafts, cooking and baking, fitness, mindfulness for little leaders, karate, taekwondo, dance, theatre, STEM, hockey, skating, ball hockey, T-Ball, basketball, gymnastics, multi-sport, soccer and Vaughan Playschool fall programs (French, Hebrew, Italian, math, reading and writing and more)
- Children: art and drawing school, sketching, arts and crafts, painting, cooking and baking, French, money smart, spelling, cursive writing, chess, circuit training, female empowerment, mindfulness, karate, taekwondo, dance, ukelele, guitar, piano, theatre, cartoon computer animation, games and animation programming, robotics, STEM and sports programs
- Youth: cooking and baking, money smart, email etiquette, public speaking, resume building and interview skills, fitness, karate, taekwondo, guitar, theatre, skating, archery, basketball and badminton
- Adult: painting, Zumba, tai chi, HIIT, Queenax, weight and muscle training, Pilates, yoga, ballroom dancing, belly dancing, Bollywood dancing, Latin dancing, line dancing, guitar, theatre, skating, archery and sports leagues
- Older Adult: DanceFIT, Zumba, ArthritisFIT, ChairFIT, OsteoFIT, qigong, tai chi, muscle conditioning, yoga, chair yoga, Pilates, line dancing and pickleball
- Inclusion: programs for adults with disabilities, such as dancing, adaptive gymnastics, music, arts and crafts, sports, skating, reading, writing and math
- Workshops for all ages: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Channukah and Christmas-themed crafting and pottery workshops; gingerbread house decorating; home safety workshops for kids old enough to stay home alone and more!

Swim lessons and aquatic leadership programs
Get ready to dive in the pool! Registration for fall swim lessons and aquatic leadership courses opens at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20 and courses start on Saturday, Sept. 21 at all Vaughan community centre pools.
Learn-to-swim programming starts at ages four months old for parents with tots and runs up to levels specifically designed for adult non-swimmers. Training and certification in aquatic leadership courses for ages 13 years and older is aimed at preparing youth for employment as a swim instructor or lifeguard.
