Petscapes: Tails of the Lost + Found

New Photography Exhibition Coming to City Hall

The City of Vaughan’s latest art exhibition, Petscapes: Tails of the Lost + Found, is a must-see for animal lovers. The series of photographic portraits depicts dogs and cats who found a safe haven at the Vaughan Animal Services shelter.

Award-winning photographer (and dog owner) Sandra Scarpelli’s ability to capture the inner-essence of her animal subjects is conveyed in 17 engaging pet portraits that she photographed at the shelter. Each one is accompanied by a short story that profiles the experiences of the dogs and cats.

Petscapes is the third annual exhibition in the Planet Earth Series, which is dedicated to championing awareness of global conservation, environmental sustainability and animal stewardship. Scarpelli’s portraits are a reminder that everyone shares a role in responsible pet ownership. Petscapes is on display in the Atrium Gallery at Vaughan City Hall from Feb. 26 to April 28, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Petscapes: Tails of the Lost + Found is organized by Vaughan’s Recreation and Culture department. For more information, contact Sharon Gaum-Kuchar, arts co-ordinator, at 905-832-8585, ext. 7428 or sharon.kuchar@vaughan.ca, or visit vaughan.ca/artsandculture.
