Carrville Mill Park was officially opened Tuesday as residents joined Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the occasion.

“We are extremely proud of the exceptional standards that have been set in the City of Vaughan in providing high quality parks and green spaces for our residents,” said Mayor Bevilacqua. “Our parks are an investment in our growing community and in the health and well-being of our citizens. They provide a gathering place for neighbours to meet and recreational opportunities for young people to stay active and have fun in a safe environment with their friends.”

Carrville Mill Park is 1.9 hectares in size and is located at 501 Marc Santi Boulevard. Facilities include junior and senior accessible playgrounds, a skate zone, mini soccer field, pedestrian bridge, covered shade structure and a seating plaza.

“Carrville Mill Park is unique in that it combines natural aspects of the landscape, such as a nearby creek, into the park design,” said Ward 4 Councillor Sandra Yeung Racco. “Green spaces, such as this park, help to foster public understanding, enjoyment of the environment and active living. Carrville Mill Park will be enjoyed by present and future generations, and I encourage our residents to take advantage of this wonderful new facility.”
