Vaughan couple recognized for more than 35 years of volunteering
Ward 2 Civic Hero Award presented to Mary and Rocco Grossi
For more than 35
years, Mary and Rocco Grossi have been volunteering their time to help more
than two-dozen charities and not-for-profit organizations. In recognition of
their efforts to support these groups, they were presented with the Civic Hero
Award for Ward 2 by Vaughan Council yesterday.
The couple has been involved with a wide variety of local community
groups and charities, including ratepayers’ associations, churches, schools and
cultural organizations. Mr. Grossi also has been the treasurer of the Terelle
Social Club, as well as the co-ordinator of its annual picnics and dinner
dances since 1977. Mrs. Grossi is currently the president of the Catholic
Women’s League of Canada with St. Margaret Mary Church where she has
volunteered since 1994.
