Vaughan lends support to Gravenhurst during state of emergency
Mayor Steven Del Duca issued the following statement:
"As communities north of us in Muskoka continue to dig out following days of heavy snowfall, they have asked for assistance from other Ontario municipalities.
“Vaughan is always ready to help those in need and, with the support of our winter contractors, the City is sending four blowers and operators to assist with clearing the roads and highways in the Town of Gravenhurst.
“We are hopeful that this will positively impact Muskoka Region's ability to respond to the extreme weather they're facing, and we are ready to continue helping as required to ensure that our fellow Ontarians are kept safe.
"City staff are in communication with officials in Gravenhurst and we are committed to providing ongoing support.
"Our thoughts are with every resident in the area who has been impacted by this.”
