Office of Deputy City Manager, Corporate Services, City Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer

Michael Coroneos joined the City of Vaughan in 2018 as the Chief Financial Officer and City Treasurer before becoming Deputy City Manager of Corporate Services, Chief Financial Officer and City Treasurer in 2019. In his role, he remains committed to providing all departments with the support they need to champion transparency, accountable decision-making and responsible financial management.

The Deputy City Manager, Corporate Services, City Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer oversees the delivery of technology to drive innovation and efficiency, and provides advice on all matters related to financial management and fiscal accountability for the City. This includes development of the long-range financial plan, policies and programs that support the growth of the City in a financially sustainable way.

This portfolio includes the following City departments:

• Financial Planning and Development Finance creates and manages financial policies, develops the tax-supported budget, administers development charge policy and provides financial advice to City departments and Vaughan Council.
• Financial Services provides property taxation and assessment-based management, develops the water, wastewater and stormwater rate-supported budget, and administers cashiering, accounting and statutory financial reporting.
• Office of the Chief Information Officer manages the effective delivery of technologies and services, such as the engineering, architecture, implementation, security, maintenance and support of city-wide technology and communications infrastructure.
• Procurement Services acquires goods, services, capital construction projects and equipment for the City and Vaughan Public Libraries.
