City Hosts Community Forum on Protecting Natural Heritage and Reducing Emissions
Nov. 11, 2013
The City of Vaughan invites residents to attend a community forum to provide input on two important Green Directions Vaughan projects: the Natural Heritage Network Study and the Community Climate Action Plan. The forum will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Vaughan City Hall in Council Chambers.
The City’s Natural Heritage Network Study aims to identify at-risk plant and animal wildlife species and develop a strategy to protect, preserve and enhance Vaughan’s natural heritage resources. The Community Climate Action Plan aims to protect our climate now and for the future by working with Vaughan residents to reduce climate-changing greenhouse gas emissions produced by the community.
The City also encourages residents to visit vaughan.ideascale.com to submit their ideas for reducing climate change impacts in Vaughan, vote on existing ideas and share comments through an online feedback forum.
