Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council officially launched the City’s new website today at Vaughan City Hall. Staff demonstrated the site’s new features and functionality, designed to give visitors to vaughan.ca a more personalized online experience.

“The City of Vaughan has redesigned its website to reflect the needs of our residents, businesses and visitors,” said Mayor Bevilacqua. “As Vaughan continues to grow and transform into a world-class city, it is important that we stay connected with our community and beyond. The new website provides us with a better way to share our message as a City and at the same time, offers new and innovative features that will make the user experience easy, enjoyable and most importantly, deliver the information they are looking for.”

The new website includes a fresh look and feel, rotating homepage banners, service-based tiles for easy navigation and a consistent layout throughout. User-friendly features and increased functionality include automatic email alerts and RSS feeds, social media links as well as interactive maps highlighting community centres, parks, libraries and other municipal buildings. The website design improves accessibility through the use of easy-to-read fonts, large navigation icons, and the use of contrasting colours.

Visitors to vaughan.ca can now choose the way they receive information by creating an online profile that matches their personal interests. In addition, an improved search function provides faster and more efficient access to the information they want. Online services include recreation registration, animal licensing and parking permit applications. Services will continue to be added to the new platform as they become available.

“I would like to acknowledge the excellent work of City Staff in completing this extensive project,” said City Manager Clayton Harris. “Every department has been responsible for posting up-to-date information based on the services they provide to our residents, businesses and visitors. The deployment and launch of our new website is a clear demonstration of the City’s commitment and team approach to providing service excellence to our community and all stakeholders.”
