December Break programs are almost here!
Final days to register for online classes, which start Dec. 21
It’s time for mistletoe, holly and holiday-themed online programs! Stay warm indoors this winter break and participate in the City of Vaughan’s many creative, educational and fun virtual classes for all ages and abilities from Monday, Dec. 21 to Thursday, Dec. 31. Register before the first class at vaughan.ca/RecOnline.
Included in the December Break programs are a variety of virtual, holiday-themed classes and activities to help families rejoice in the festive season. Children can create winter crafts, sing carols with Santa and ring in the New Year doing confetti science experiments, while adults can bake healthy and delicious holiday treats. Residents can also spend their break learning something new, such as Zendoodle or magic, or there’s the option to stay active inside with no-equipment workouts.
Holiday virtual fitness classes
It’s beginning to look a lot like FITmas! The City is also offering free exercise classes so residents can stay active at home. Rock around the Christmas tree with many holiday-themed yoga, cardio and strength-training workouts on the RecVaughan YouTube channel led by Vaughan fitness instructors. These full-length fitness classes (30 to 45-minutes long) are streamed Monday through Saturday at 10 a.m. from Monday, Dec. 21 to Saturday, Jan. 2. Crank up that holiday music and get moving and grooving.
Residents can continue to join in the regularly scheduled virtual fitness classes via Zoom, free to Vaughan Fitness Members. Classes include yoga, total body conditioning, barre, HIIT circuit training and Zumba. Pre-registration is required at vaughan.ca/RecOnline. For more information on virtual fitness offerings, visit vaughan.ca/fitness.
