All levels of
government are responding to the global pandemic
As York Region – and Vaughan – enters the Red-Control level of the Province of Ontario’s COVID-19 response framework, the City continues to work closely with all levels of government to monitor and respond to the global pandemic. The health and well-being of citizens and staff remains the priority.
Each level of government has different roles and responsibilities in helping to break the chain of transmission of this virus.
The City’s By-law and Compliance, Licensing and Permit Services department is actively enforcing provincial COVID-19 regulations, including Ontario Regulation 263/20 – Rules for Areas in Stage 2 / Red Control Zone as amended, with York Regional Police and York Region Public Health. To report infractions in Vaughan, contact Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281 or accessvaughan@vaughan.ca. All recorded cases will be directed to By-law for investigation in priority sequence.

The Government of Canada is responsible for –
- Access to credit
- Business support
- Canada Child Benefit
- Canada Emergency Response Benefit
- Canada Student Loans
- Employee support
- Employment Insurance (EI)
- Foreign travel and support for Canadians abroad
- Income tax
