Honouring those who give back to Vaughan
Annual awards ceremony
celebrates outstanding volunteers
Volunteers are the backbone of our city and an invaluable resource. They use their passion to make a distinct and positive impact on the people they help and the health and wellbeing of the community as a whole.
Mayor
Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council recognized 80 volunteers last night
in a special ceremony at City Hall to thank them for their exceptional
contributions to the community. Every year, in celebration of National
Volunteer Week, not-for-profit organizations and community groups nominate their
most outstanding volunteer for a City of Vaughan Volunteer Recognition Award.
At the
awards ceremony, recipients received a volunteer recognition certificate and
lapel pin from Council. Guests were entertained with a solo keyboard
performance by Anthony Brancati, and youth singer Luca Figliomeni sang the national
anthem.
