Learn how to build a resume, get CPR training, decorate cupcakes and paint watercolours from home

National Youth Week is fast approaching and the City of Vaughan is ready to make it special for our younger citizens with free virtual activities from Saturday, May 1 to Friday, May 7.

There is something for everyone – aged 10 to 17 years old – to enjoy from the comfort and safety of home with eight unique workshops delivered via Zoom. From watercolour painting, cupcake decorating and Roblox gaming to CPR training, managing your mental health, and building your professional brand, there is lots of fun to be had and new skills to be learned. Pre-registration is required at vaughan.perfectmind.com. For a complete list of programming, visit vaughan.ca/recreation.

That’s in addition to short workouts and various sports and professional development challenges for youth that will be shared on @recvaughan Instagram and @VaughanRecreation Facebook courtesy of the team in Recreation Services.

The City is also looking for young “hometown heroes” to profile on Recreation Services’ social media. Youth are encouraged to submit photos or videos featuring their best sporting moment, a good deed or any achievement they’re proud of for a chance to share their greatness. Submissions can be shared via DM or by tagging @recvaughan on Instagram (accounts must be public to share).

The City continues to offer virtual programming for all ages during the stay-at-home order.

Virtual spring programming
