The City reminds citizens to continue following public health protocols

The halls are decked and presents are wrapped, but the fight against COVID-19 is not over. With the holidays in full swing, the City of Vaughan is encouraging everyone to do their part in reducing the spread of the virus. Being safe is the best holiday gift this year.

Remember to stay vigilant and follow York Region Public Health protocols, including:

  • staying home as much as possible and limiting close contact to those in your immediate household.
  • practising physical distancing (PDF) with anyone outside of your household by staying two metres away.
  • washing your hands thoroughly and often.
  • avoiding touching your face with unwashed hands.
  • wearing a face mask or covering when inside public places and when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
  • cleaning high-touch surfaces often.
  • downloading the COVID-Alert app.

For a complete list of measures, visit york.ca/COVID19.

If celebrating with others, please follow Province of Ontario guidelines around social gathering limits. To mitigate COVID-19 transmission, the province reduced social gathering limits to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors effective Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021. Visit the province’s COVID-19 Public Health Measures and Advice webpage for the latest information.

It is important to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and seek assessment and testing if necessary. Those who feel unwell with COVID-19 symptoms should contact York Region Public Health at 1-800-361-5653 or Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000. If severe symptoms develop, such as difficulty breathing or chest pain, call 911. For additional information and resources on the virus, visit York Region's website at york.ca/COVID19.
