card! Vaughan Public Libraries (VPL) has reopened the doors to all community
branches with strict COVID-19 safety protocols in effect. This comes following
the June 14 reopening of the three resource library branches which have since
welcomed an average of 8,500 customers each week.
Now open –
- Ansley Grove Library
- Bathurst Clark Resource Library
- Civic Centre Resource Library
- Dufferin Clark Library
- Kleinburg Library
- Mackenzie Health Vaughan Library
- Pierre Berton Resource Library
- Pleasant Ridge Library
- Vellore Village Library
- Woodbridge Library
Please note: Maple
Library remains closed due to renovations.
VPL is opening its community
branches to the public cautiously and
safely. Customers will be able to browse the physical collection, access
on-site study and reading spaces, and use public computers. Visitors are
reminded to remain vigilant and follow public health guidelines, including
physically distancing at least six feet (two metres) from others, wearing a
mask or face covering, and thoroughly washing and sanitizing hands.
VPL is also extending
hours of operations just in time for the first week of school!
Effective today, all libraries
in Vaughan, with the exception of the Kleinburg Library, will be open:
- Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Kleinburg Library
will be open:
- Monday and Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Friday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
With
the reopening of the community branches, VPL’s successful Curbside Pickup
program will be coming to an end as of today. Since the start of the pandemic, more
than 2.4-million items have been borrowed from the library including books,
DVDs and CDs.
