Waste belongs in bins – not in parks or trails
No one likes finding litter or household garbage bags in Vaughan’s parks and trails. That’s why the City of Vaughan is here to remind you that keeping Vaughan litter-free is a team effort! There are a few simple steps everyone can take to ensure these public spaces stay clean for all to enjoy:
- Use the public waste bins provided when visiting City parks or trails. Pet waste belongs in the garbage when you’re out in public spaces and in the green bin when at home.
- If the bins are full, take your waste home with you.
- Don’t leave flyers at the mailbox – take them home to properly recycle.
- Keep your home and surrounding area free of litter by putting waste in the correct bins. If you’re unsure where an item belongs, download the Recycle Coach app through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The City also offers an online sorting tool so you can check what goes where.
- Drop off extra garbage bags you may have at a York Region Waste Depot for safe disposal – fees will apply.
- Report litter or dumped household garbage to Access Vaughan by phone at 905-832-2281, by email at accessvaughan@vaughan.ca or online at vaughan.ca/ServiceVaughan.
If you do your part to help reduce litter, you are demonstrating respect for your neighbours, neighbourhoods and shared community spaces. By working together, Vaughan will remain a place where residents and visitors can live, work and play in a clean and healthy city.
