What’s old can be new again!
Participate in Curbside Giveaway Days this weekend
Something that’s old to you can feel new to someone else – this is especially true during the City of Vaughan’s Curbside Giveaway Days! Back this weekend, this waste reduction program allows you to place gently used items you no longer need at the curb for your neighbours to take, free of charge. You can also visit other participating properties in your community and check out what they’re giving away.
As a reminder, the upcoming 2023 Curbside Giveaway Days are as follows:
- Saturday, June 24 to Sunday, June 25
- Saturday, July 29 to Sunday, July 30
- Saturday, Aug. 26 to Sunday, Aug. 27
- Saturday, Sept. 23 to Sunday, Sept. 24
- Saturday, Oct. 28 to Sunday, Oct. 29
How to participate
Here’s all you need to know to make Curbside Giveaway Days a success:
- Place your materials curbside on the morning of designated Curbside Giveaway Days, beginning at 7 a.m.
- Any items that are not claimed must be brought in by 5 p.m. on Sunday. Items left at the curb after that time could result in a by-law violation.
- Download and print a “FREE” curbside giveaway poster (PDF) to place on your items.
- Share pictures of your items using #VaughanCurbGiveaway on social media.
- Keep items you do not want to give away close to your home or inside to avoid confusion.
- Keep sidewalks and fire hydrants clear.
- Only take items that are marked “free.”
- Respect private property and do not walk on people’s lawns or gardens.
- Obey traffic laws at all times – please do not block traffic or driveways.
