Vaughan is looking for feedback
on the City’s updated Community Service Organization and Facility Allocation
policies
Did you know the City of Vaughan supports eligible Community
Service Organizations by providing facilities for their use? The policies that
guide these practices are under review, and the City is looking for public
input. Citizens who wish to provide feedback can do so by completing an online survey, which is open until Wednesday, Feb. 2.
The Community Service
Organization Policy
(PDF) defines the application requirements, terms and conditions, and
eligibility criteria for all groups applying for Community Service Organization
status. The Facility Allocation Policy (PDF) outlines the
process for granting
permission and access to use City facilities by community groups. Both policies
encourage active living, social and special interest activities that enhance
the well-being, health and quality of life of residents, and acknowledge community
partners.
In 2011, the City
undertook a similar study and prepared updated Community Service Organization and
Facility Allocation policies. These policies were approved in 2012. Since then,
there have been changes throughout Vaughan, including significant population
growth and new community groups requiring facilities, that will inform future
changes.
