Previously the Director of Environmental Services, she was appointed in 2024 to Deputy City Manager, Public Works, where she champions operational excellence to deliver the City’s core services that residents, businesses and visitors rely on to keep Vaughan safe, clean and beautiful.
The Deputy City Manager, Public Works, oversees the operation, maintenance and improvement of much of the City's infrastructure and manages essential services – such as road maintenance, water distribution, waste collection, snow removal and park upkeep – to achieve impactful, citizen-centered outcomes that enhance overall community satisfaction and well-being. Staff in Public Works are ready to serve, together, with a focus on delivering exceptional services to the community.
This portfolio includes the following City departments:
- Environmental Services' stewardship of the City’s water, wastewater and stormwater systems, and delivery of solid waste management services, is critical to the function of a rapidly growing city. This department is committed to managing these systems and services with a focus on ensuring regulatory compliance and financial sustainability while providing value-for-money to the city’s residents and businesses.
- Parks, Forestry and Horticulture Operations is responsible for the maintenance of parks and open spaces including trail systems, playgrounds, cemeteries, and a variety of sports fields and courts. This department provides support for community events, maintains horticultural displays and flower beds, and ensures the sustainability of the city's urban tree canopy.
- Transportation and Fleet Management Services maintains Vaughan roads, including snow plowing, windrow clearing and road and sidewalk repairs. This department manages traffic, including maintaining signalized intersections and streetlights, and administration of the School Crossing Guard program while also ensuring City vehicles and equipment are well-maintained to operate safely and reliably.
- Strategic Portfolio Management plays a critical role in supporting a culture of innovation, collaboration and value-centric decision-making to ensure service delivery is not only effective, but also aligned with the needs of the Vaughan community.
