Welcome to Camp Corral, where every day is an adventure filled with excitement, learning, the beauty of nature — and horses! 

Here's a glimpse into a typical day at our premier horseback riding summer camp located at the breathtaking Pathways on Pleasure Valley.

7:30am - Before & After Care

Supervised Before & After Care is available for kids aged four to 13 and requires separate registration. This service ensures campers are well taken care of before the main activities of the day begin.

7:30am - Bus departure from Vellore Village Community Centre

Campers gather at the Vellore Village Community Centre and board the bus for a journey filled with anticipation and excitement. The bus ride offers a great opportunity for campers to chat and get to know each other, setting the tone for a fun day ahead.

8:05am - Bus departure from North Thornhill Community Centre

Campers from the North Thornhill Community Centre join the journey, adding to the growing camaraderie. The bus ride continues through scenic routes, building excitement as they quickly approach Camp Corral.

9am to 9:20am - Arrival/Opening circle

The day begins with warm welcome activities as campers arrive and gather for the opening circle. This is a time for orientation, where the day's schedule will be discussed, safety protocols are reviewed, and some nature sightings are enjoyed. It's a perfect way to start the day, ensuring everyone is energized and ready for the fun ahead.

9:20am to 9:30am - Travel/Transition

Campers hop on a wagon ride, providing a scenic and enjoyable transition to their first activity of the day.

9:30am to 10:30am - Lessons

The morning kicks off with specialty horseback riding lessons. Campers are introduced to essential safety protocols and meet the horses they'll be riding. Whether it's indoor riding, trail riding or event training, campers start with 30 minutes of riding time on the first day, gradually increasing to 45 minutes by mid-week as they gain confidence and experience. Make sure your camper has all the required and essential equipment!

10:30am to 10:45am - Travel/Transition

Another wagon ride takes campers to their next adventure, giving them a moment to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

10:45am to 11am - Snack

It's snack time! Campers refuel with a packed snack, ensuring they have the energy needed for the rest of the day's activities.

11am to noon - Guided nature hike

Campers embark on a guided nature hike, where they meet and learn about the local wildlife, including animals, plants and insects. Donning their detective hats, they explore the underbrush, deciphering clues left by nature and observing various life forms in their natural habitats.

Noon to 12:30pm - Lunch

Lunchtime provides a much-needed break for campers to enjoy their packed lunches and socialize with friends.

12:30pm to 1:15pm - Active games

After lunch, it's time for active games. These engaging sports and activities promote physical movement, teamwork and lots of fun, keeping campers active and entertained.

1:15pm to 2:15pm - Stable management

In the afternoon, campers learn the essentials of stable management. This includes activities like feeding and watering the horses, bedding, grooming, maintaining cleanliness, and caring for horse tack such as saddles and bridles. It's a hands-on experience that fosters responsibility and a deeper connection with their equine companions.

2:15pm to 2:30pm - Snack

Another snack break gives campers a chance to recharge before the final activities of the day.

2:30pm to 3:15pm - Nature-inspired crafts

Creativity takes centre stage with nature-inspired crafts. Campers use materials found in the great outdoors to create beautiful, eco-friendly art, combining fun with an appreciation for nature.

3:15pm to 3:45pm - Closing activities

The day winds down with closing activities, where campers reflect on their experiences, share highlights with their peers and prepare for departure.

3:45pm - Departure

Campers board the bus for the journey home, tired but happy after a day full of adventures and learning.

4:40pm - Bus arrival to North Thornhill Community Centre

Parents arrive to pick up their happy, tired campers, who leave with stories of their adventures and excitement for the days to come.

5:05pm - Bus arrival to Vellore Village Community Centre

Parents gather to greet their cheerful and exhausted campers, eager to hear all about the day's adventures and experiences.

6pm - Before & After Care

Supervised Before & After Care ensures campers are looked after until their parents can collect them. This service provides a calm and safe environment for winding down after a day of fun.
