Transportation Planning

The Transportation Planning and Engineering division:

• Works closely with internal departments in the development of growth and renewal infrastructure planning studies and reports, including Master Plans, major infrastructure studies, needs reports, Environmental Assessments, and other research and special projects
• Manages the engineering component of the City’s Development Charges Background Study and related policies and By-laws
• Works closely with Provincial and Regional Governments and agencies
• Protects the City’s infrastructure interests in initiatives led by these entities through provincial growth plans and other legislation, Official Plans and Amendments, and studies and projects by York Region, Ministry of Transportation (MTO), Metrolinx, City of Toronto, York Region Rapid Transit, and TTC
