Responsibilities:
- The primary responsibility of the Box Office Coordinator is to assist in the day-to-day operations of the box office, ticket sales, concessions, academy administration and theatre rentals.
- Process ticket sales in person and by phone
- Work with clients to build shows in the Red 61 ticketing system to facilitate ticket sales.
- Liase with 3rd party ticket provider to resolve any ticketing system issues.
- Develops and maintains relationships with clients.
- Prepare the daily cash balance reports and monthly reconciliation.
- Participates in general office duties including the purchasing of office supplies for the theatre and theatre academy.
- Preparing, sorting, and distributing tickets for private events.
- Responsible for scheduling part time staff.
- Help to organize concessions area including maintaining inventory and the purchasing of supplies including alcohol.
- Reconciles and tracks all concession sales.
- Respond to general enquiries and e-mails and phone calls.
- Fill in as Front of House staff/Concession Seller as the schedule requires.
- Assist in responding to theatre rental enquiries and when required provide prospective clients with theatre tours and rental information including rates and sharing theatre policies and procedures.
Report to the Recreation Operations Supervisor and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and requirements
- Superior customer service abilities and excellent communication skills as a forward-facing employee.
- Superior organization skills.
- Community college diploma in administration or suitable equivalent. Minimum of 4-year experience in customer service, office administration or arts industry. and cash handling skills.
- A confident individual with a pleasant and friendly demeanor.
- Experience and/or interest in the live event industry is an asset.
- Ability to multitask and be able to prioritize customers.
- Ability to be flexible and handle the pressure of live production.
- Ability to problem solve and learn from experience.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft office and its applications.
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR‐C certification from a WSIB‐approved first aid provider; must maintain certifications on an ongoing basis; at own expense.
- Vulnerable Sector screening Check.
- Smart Serve Certification required.
- Food Handler Certification required
- Experience with Red 61 or similar ticket system is an asset.
Police Vulnerable Sector Check to be obtained by applicant upon offer of employment – results letter must be presented prior to employment start date; at own expense.
