Responsibilities:

  1. Assists the Instructor with the supervision and instruction of participants in instructional programs. Program Areas for this position include:
    - General sports programs for all ages: basketball, racket sports, multi-sport, archery; gymnastics; instructional pickleball
    - Virtual programming and professional skills
    - Preschool and children science, STEM.
    - Pre-school school readiness French and Italian
    - Pre-school and children's ice hockey
    - Vaughan Sports basketball, soccer, volleyball
    - Vaughan Playschool
    - Dance, all forms: All Ages
    - Gymnastics: All Ages
    - Martial Arts: All Ages
    - Sports Pro – Squash & Pickleball
    - Music Professional
    - Culinary Professional
    - Specialty Visual Arts 
  2. Assist with implementing lesson plans for each class. 
  3. Assist with participants when needed to ensure instruction is progressive in nature (becomes more complex and/or builds on skills/concepts learned previously).
  4. Assist with the supervision, safety & wellbeing of participants.
  5. Ensures set-up and take down of equipment before and after the program.
  6. Documents and communicates any incident/accidents that occur to the Community Centre Lead.
  7. Excellent customer services skills with the ability to remain calm during difficult situations and resolve conflicts tactfully.

Qualifications and requirements

  1. Current holder of Standard First Aid/CPR-C
  2. Vulnerable Sector Screening
  3. Experience with relevant program area preferred
