Schedule:

Monday to Friday, daytime (may vary for training, planning, etc.)

Responsibilities:

  1. Directly responsible for implementing and leading the program plans for your designated camper group.
  2. Follow daily program schedules, including special events and theme days.
  3. Assist Specialists in guiding campers through any camp speciality.
  4. Ensure the wellbeing of all campers during camp hours through detailed attendance tracking and site inspections.
  5. Compile and review medical records of campers, taking special note of any allergies and other medical problems.
  6. Provide active supervision during swim rotations by being in the pool with your group at all times.
  7. Assist in the organization of Parents’ Days/Nights/Lunches and attend such functions.
  8. Contribute to the mentorship and evaluations of Counsellors in Training participants.
  9. Maintain ongoing and effective communication with parents, the public, and City staff.
  10. Maintain a professional attitude that includes being punctual, constantly attentive and engaged.
  11. Foster in all campers the 5 Principles of Healthy Child Development as outlined by High Five: Quality at Play.
  12. Carry out any other duties as requested by Senior Camp Staff.

Qualifications and requirements

  1. Program planning experience in a day camp setting preferred.
  2. Standard First Aid/CPR-C certification.
  3. Valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
  4. High Five, Principles of Healthy Child Development certification.
  5. Full Attendance at Pre-Camp Training.
