June 25, 2014
The City of Vaughan celebrated ‘The Next Chapter’ at this year’s Mayor’s Gala held at the Paramount Conference and Event Venue on Tuesday, June 24. The presenting sponsor was Solmar Development Corp.
The emcee for the gala was Sangita Patel, entertainment reporter for ET Canada, and the event featured a live performance by Juno award winner Serena Ryder. A highlight of the evening was a live auction for a dinner with the Mayor that raised a record $310,000 for the Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital.
As the premier fundraising event in the City of Vaughan, the proceeds from the Mayor’s Gala support many not-for-profit and community organizations that provide essential services to the residents of Vaughan.
QUOTE
“The Next Chapter is a celebration of the continuing evolution of the City of Vaughan. Our community has a great history, and now we are turning the page and writing the next chapter of the Vaughan story. Since 2011, we have worked hard to create a caring and compassionate city with a strong sense of community spirit. In that time, more than 100 community groups and organizations have benefitted from the generosity of the people of this City who understand that collectively, we have a responsibility to support those who need our help. The Mayor’s Gala has helped to raise the profile of these organizations and shine a spotlight on the incredible work they do every day.”
