Accommodating all road users

Share your ideas to inform the City of Vaughan’s Complete Streets Guidelines

How can Vaughan’s streets safely accommodate all users, including people who are walking, biking, taking public transit or driving? The City of Vaughan is developing Complete Streets Guidelines to outline the planning, design, operation and maintenance of the City’s street network – and your opinion matters!

A Complete Street is defined as a street that is safe and accessible for people of all ages, abilities and modes of transportation. The guidelines will help planners and developers incorporate the proper necessities, such as seating, streetlights and infrastructure, when building or updating Vaughan’s public streets. When complete, the guidelines will also provide a strategic planning lens and overall policy context to guide transportation planning, capital infrastructure projects, development applications review, streetscape design and construction.

Have your say! Until Tuesday, July 5, you can participate in an interactive online engagement to share your experiences about travelling on Vaughan streets and provide input to help increase safety for all street users. Through a digital mapping exercise, you will be able to identify areas that need improvement and point out the streets that are working well with respect to safety requirements.

Do you have thoughts on how the City can improve Vaughan’s streets? Complete the online exercise to help answer questions like:

  • Which areas of the city could be improved for the benefit and safety of all road users?
  • Which streets could be made safer?
  • What improvements do you suggest?

Do you know an area that is working well? Get involved to help answer questions like:

  • Which areas of the city do you feel provide a safe and efficient way of travel for road users?
  • Which streets make you feel safe and why?

Your feedback will help the City better understand the current opportunities and challenges faced by those using Vaughan’s streets – and also help identify potential ideas for how to address those challenges in the future.
