Alurvina DeBlois is the 2024 Ward 5 Civic Hero!
During today’s Committee of the Whole (1) meeting, Mayor Steven Del Duca, Ward 5 Councillor Gila Martow and Members of Council recognized Alurvina DeBlois as the 2024 Ward 5 Civic Hero with a special ceremonial presentation.
Alurvina DeBlois has dedicated her life to serving the greater good. She is an active board member of the Filipino-Canadian Association of Vaughan (FCAV) and has been instrumental in organizing community events such as the Twinning Anniversary of Baguio City with the City of Vaughan, and the annual Fiesta Extravaganza. Alurvina is committed to helping promote cultural diversity by showcasing the joint efforts of the City and the FCAV, and has given countless hours to this organization as a dedicated volunteer.
Further to all these achievements, she is also a retired nurse who served 11 years as the program nurse at the Addiction Research Foundation in the Young Drug Users Program.
