Be your own boss this summer
Apply for Vaughan’s Summer Company program by May 8
Turn your business idea into a reality this summer! If you’re a student aged 15 to 29 years old and want to start a full-time business over the summer, you can apply for the City of Vaughan’s Summer Company program!
In association with the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade, this program provides students with the resources, tools, skills and connections required to succeed in their business ventures.
The deadline to apply has been extended to Monday, May 8. Submit your application online at vaughanbusiness.ca/Summer-Company or directly through the Province of Ontario’s application portal.
As a program participant, you will receive consultations with one of the City’s Vaughan Business and Entrepreneurship Centre advisors who will support the development of your new business plan and budget. You could also receive up to $3,000 in provincial grant funding to start your business.
For the third year, Niagara University will provide training and mentorship for the program. Participating students will gain access to university-level business training in marketing, business modelling, operations and finance and receive a certificate of completion from Niagara University. This partnership enhances the program by providing participating students with university-level educational opportunities, unique experiential learning and career-focused skills development.
Since the program’s inception in 2001, more than 230 students in Vaughan have received support to start a business. Learn more about the program at vaughanbusiness.ca/Summer-Company.
