Tap into social and environmental sustainability

Do you own or operate a business in the city of Vaughan and want to take steps to make your processes, practices and policies more socially and environmentally sustainable? Through the new Better Your Business program, the City’s Vaughan Business and Entrepreneurship Centre (VBEC) is giving five local businesses the opportunity to create a culture of giving back to the community to make a positive social impact!

The Better Your Business program is designed to increase awareness of the resources available to help Vaughan’s business community improve their processes, practices and policies and ensure they are socially and environmentally responsible. Working together with entrepreneurs, the Better Your Business program will guide businesses on their journey to implement and maintain these practices to create a more sustainable city.

The program will offer one-on-one consultations with acclaimed York University Professor Mark Terry, PhD, who will help guide the development of your new sustainable business model to incorporate the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. If selected, your business will have the opportunity to share its newly developed sustainable business plan with the United Nations. A certificate will also be provided to demonstrate to your customers and clients your leadership and commitment to being socially and environmentally sustainable.

The application period for businesses to register for this program is now open until Friday, Sept. 30. To learn more or apply, visit vaughanbusiness.ca/BetterYourBusiness.
