City of Vaughan wins four marketing awards in economic development
The City’s Economic Development team has been recognized once again for their work to make Vaughan a place where entrepreneurship, business, tourism and art can prosper and grow!
During a special ceremonial presentation at today’s Council meeting, Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council recognized the department for receiving four Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) Marketing Canada Awards.
The already award-winning Vaughan Healthcare Centre Precinct (VHCP) 2023 Lure Book (PDF) claimed another win in the Single Publication – five or more pages category, was recognized as a 2023 EDAC Cup Contender for Best in Category and awarded the 2023 EDAC Cup for Best of Show. The EDAC Cup is presented to the top achiever of all the winning organizations. Additionally, the City’s Better Your Business: Tourism Diversity program won in the Recovery Project/Plan category.
In close partnership with Mackenzie Health, York University and ventureLAB, the City leads the VHCP, a first-of-its-kind initiative to transform the lands surrounding Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital into an epicentre of healthcare excellence. To raise the profile of the VHCP among other levels of government, business and trade stakeholders, the City’s Economic Development and Corporate and Strategic Communications departments collaborated to create a lure book which captures the vision, goals and impact of this significant city-building project.
The Better Your Business program was developed to help the local business community improve their processes, practices and policies to ensure they are more socially and environmentally responsible. Through the Better Your Business: Tourism Diversity program, Tourism Vaughan paired an industry expert and consultant – with lived experience as a person from a marginalized community – with a tourism operator to help them plan and develop more inclusive and diverse tourism products, services and experiences.
The EDAC Marketing Canada Awards acknowledge and praise communities and Economic Development professionals who are the best of the best. The awards highlight up-and-coming best practices in marketing and community initiatives.
