Cleanup efforts make a difference in community

Ward 3 Civic Hero Award presented to Valeria Mitsubata

Valeria Mitsubata has an eye for detail and beauty. The Vaughan resident, well known for her photography talent, is also a volunteer who works to keep the community clean. In recognition of her contribution to improving the environment and engaging other residents, Ms. Mitsubata was presented with the Civic Hero Award for Ward 3 by Vaughan Council yesterday.   
 
Ms. Mitsubata has been organizing cleanup days and special events in her Vellore Woods community for a number of years. She encourages children and adults to join her mission every spring to collect as much litter as possible.
