Decluttering? Rehome gently used goods during Curbside Giveaway Days this weekend!
There is no better time for a home refresh than during the change of seasons. If you’re getting rid of some gently used items, take advantage of the City of Vaughan’s Curbside Giveaway Days this weekend!
Curbside Giveaway Days is a waste reduction program encouraging you to place gently used items, such as décor, clothing, sports equipment, books and more, at the curb on select weekends for others to take, free of charge. It’s your chance to offload your unwanted belongings to a new home without contributing to excess garbage!
You only have two more weekends left this year to participate:
- Saturday, Sept. 28 to Sunday, Sept. 29
- Saturday, Oct. 26 to Sunday, Oct. 27
How to participate
Check out our tips to have a successful curbside giveaway weekend:
- Place your materials curbside on the morning of designated Curbside Giveaway Days, beginning at 7 a.m.
- Any items that are not claimed must be brought in by 5 p.m. on Sunday. Items left at the curb after that time could result in a by-law violation.
- Download and print a “FREE” curbside giveaway poster (PDF) to place on your items.
- Keep items you do not want to give away close to your home or inside to avoid confusion.
- Keep sidewalks and fire hydrants clear.
- Only take items that are marked “free.”
- Respect private property and do not walk on people’s lawns or gardens.
- Obey traffic laws at all times – please do not block traffic or driveways.
- Spread the word about your items on social media using #VaughanCurbGiveaway – we may reshare your post!
