Double-Up Days are on now!
Double-Up Days have returned for the final time in 2021! On your regular garbage collection day during the weeks of Sept. 21 and 28, you can put up to six items to the curb – no paid tags required. Large or bulky items, such as furniture, can also be put curbside for pickup, and each piece counts as one item toward the limit. All materials must be set out by 7 a.m. on collection day. Read the guidelines for setting out large or bulky items or visit vaughan.ca/waste for additional details.
Curbside Giveaway Days
Double-Up Days are a good time to declutter your home before the change in seasons; however, if you have items still in good condition, consider saving them for the next Curbside Giveaway Days on Sept. 25 and 26.
To participate, gently used materials can be placed curbside and marked “free” on Saturday, Sept. 25, beginning at 7 a.m. Any items that are not claimed must be brought in by 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26. Items left at the curb after that time could result in a by-law violation. Not sure what you should place on the curb? Books, toys, games, DVDs, furniture, small appliances and kitchen gadgets make for great finds. Items that are not reusable are listed on the Consumer Product Safety Bureau. Visit the City’s website for a complete list of what items are recommended for the Curbside Giveaway Days or for more details.
