Looking for ways to spend some quality time outdoors with your loved ones this fall? The City of Vaughan has many amenities for you to enjoy – from parks to sports fields to trails and more! Read below for a list of places you can visit to get some fresh air and embrace the vibrant colours of the season. 

Park amenities
The City’s parks offer a variety of outdoor spaces to explore. The following amenities remain open until the end of November 2022, weather permitting:

  • Basketball courts
  • Bocce courts
  • Outdoor exercise equipment
  • Playgrounds
  • Skateboard parks
  • Tennis and pickleball courts 

Artificial soccer fields are open, weather permitting, until Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022. 

The following amenities are now closed for the season:

  • Natural grass soccer fields
  • Volleyball courts
  • Baseball diamonds 

All washroom facilities in parks are now closed for the season and will reopen in May 2023. Parking lots will close November 1, 2022; with the exception of the lots located at North Thornhill Regional Park, Concord Thornhill Regional Park, McKenzie Glen District Park, Sugarbush Heritage Park and Bindertwine Park. Please note, aside from walkways and portable washrooms, park amenities are not maintained throughout the winter. 

The City’s off-leash dog parks, listed below, remain open all year:

  • Concord Thornhill Regional Park, 299 Racco Parkway, Thornhill
  • Legion Park, 70 Legion Court Rd, Woodbridge
  • Mackenzie Glen District Park, 220 Cranston Park Ave., Woodbridge
  • Matthew District Park, 1 Villa Royale Ave., Woodbridge
  • Sugarbush Heritage Park, 91 Thornhill Woods Dr., Thornhill

Trails and neighbourhood walks
Vaughan’s trails and neighbourhood walks are available to enjoy year-round and are the perfect way to take in all the fall colours! Choose from 12 different trails throughout the city: Jersey Creek Neighbourhood Walk, Mackenzie Glen Neighbourhood Walk, Maple Nature Reserve Nature Walk, Marita Payne Neighbourhood Walk, North Maple Regional Park Nature Walk, Peter Rupert Neighbourhood Walk, Rainbow Creek Neighbourhood Walk, Riverwalk Neighbourhood Walk, Sonoma Heights Neighbourhood Walk, Sugarbush Nature Walk, Vellore Neighbourhood Walk and William Granger Greenway Nature Walk. There’s a trail for all ages, abilities and comfort levels.
