The
lands upon which the city of Vaughan is situated have a rich and varied history
that have helped shape the thriving community it is today. To ensure
this history is available for future generations, the City of Vaughan’s Archival Database is now viewable online.
The City’s new publicly
accessible and keyword searchable catalogue provides users with access to the
City’s Archival collection and various digital resources. Check back often –
the database will be updated regularly with new content!
The City’s Archives are
home to more than 600 collections, consisting of City and community records about
Vaughan and its diverse history. The new online database includes city business
records; private business, church, community and school records; census records;
historic photographs; land records; historical maps, plans, aerials and
newspapers; personal papers of residents and families, and records of local
organizations.
By managing and
preserving City and community records, the Enterprise
Information Management Services team ensures that Vaughan's rich and varied
