Final City-wide Large Branch Cleanup Begins May 12

May 6, 2014

The final large branch debris cleanup from the ice storm begins Monday, May 12 in the City of Vaughan. Residents are being asked to bring all remaining large branches to the curb no later than Sunday, May 11.

In order for Forestry crews to collect the large branches, residents are asked to –
  • Place branches in neat piles
  • Set out the branches with the large cut ends facing the street
  • Ensure the branches are not blocking sidewalks or roadways, or are impeding views for pedestrians and drivers
  • Ensure the branches are not piled next to tree trunks, as trees may need to be accessed
If residents miss the final city-wide cleanup, they have the option to –
  • Set out branches in accordance with the size and weight requirements for the Leaf and Yard Waste Pick-Up Program
  • Take branches to Miller Waste Systems’ facility at the Bloomington Road Compost Facility (fees apply)
  • Take branches to private, commercial sites within the area (fees may apply)
  • Hire a contractor to remove tree debris at owner’s expense
