Report household dumping and litter to Access Vaughan

The City of Vaughan has many parks and trails for residents and visitors to explore, and they are most enjoyable when they are kept litter-free. Your actions can make a big difference in ensuring these spaces remain safe, clean and beautiful.

If you are out at a City park or trail and see illegal dumping or littering, report it to Access Vaughan by phone at 905-832-2281, by email at accessvaughan@vaughan.ca or online at vaughan.ca/ServiceVaughan.

When visiting the City’s parks or trails, remember to use the waste bins provided. If they are full, take your garbage and pet waste home with you. Pet waste belongs in the green bin at home and waste bins when in the community.

Are you getting a lot of flyers in the mail? Don’t leave them at the mailbox – remember to take them home with you to recycle in the blue bin.

Keep your home and surrounding area free of litter by putting waste in the correct bins. If you’re unsure where an item belongs, download the Recycle Coach app through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The City also offers an online sorting tool so you can check what goes where.

If you have extra garbage bags on collection day, drop them off at the York Region Waste Depot for safe disposal – fees will apply. The City also offers Double-Up Days, coming up the weeks of Sept. 20 or 27, depending on your scheduled collection day. You can place up to six garbage bags curbside and no paid tags are required.

By helping to reduce litter, you are demonstrating respect for your neighbours, neighbourhoods and shared community spaces. Let’s ensure Vaughan remains a place where residents and visitors can live, work and play in a clean and healthy city.
