Do you know an entrepreneur or business leader you think should be considered for the Order of Vaughan? Nominate them today for the City’s highest civic honour — the Order of Vaughan.

The Order of Vaughan acknowledges exemplary individuals who have made a significant and enduring contribution to the city through their endeavours, including business accomplishments and community building in Vaughan.

In addition to the business-focused category, you can nominate leaders within the following categories: arts and entertainment, media and communications, athletics, health and wellness, philanthropy, public service, education, science and technology, not-for-profit, equity and diversity, accessibility, and environment and spirituality.

Nominations can be made by completing a nomination form (PDF) and submitting it along with supporting documents highlighting the individual’s accomplishments and character. Supporting documents may include news articles, writing samples or products, among other examples. Please note that supporting materials should not be website links or videos.

All nomination forms and documents must be submitted by email to orderofvaughan@vaughan.ca or by mail to the Office of the City Clerk, Attention Order of Vaughan, 2141 Major Mackenzie Dr., Vaughan ON L6A 1T1.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, Aug. 26. The Order of Vaughan Selection Committee will review nominations and recommend candidates to Council for approval. The 2022 Order of Vaughan will be presented on Thursday, Nov. 3, during an official investiture ceremony.

Launched by the Mayor in 2016 to mark Vaughan’s 25th anniversary, the Order of Vaughan pays tribute to individuals who have made a meaningful impact on the city’s civic life and dedicated their time and talent to the city’s ongoing success. With 25 recipients invested in the Order of Vaughan in its first year, this year, up to 10 nominees may be eligible to receive the award. Since its inception, 52 exemplary citizens have been recognized.
