Annual publication offers important news, information and resources

Check your mailbox! The 2019 edition of the City of Vaughan’s Celebrate Vaughan magazine is heading to homes and businesses across the city this week.

The latest edition of Vaughan’s signature publication highlights the city’s major milestones, including ongoing construction of the Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital and the dynamic evolution of the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) - to the opening of Phase One of the 900-acre North Maple Regional Park and welcoming the first university in York Region, Niagara University.

The centrepiece of Celebrate Vaughan is the City’s annual Momentum Report, which provides a comprehensive review of the innovative and dynamic accomplishments that have been achieved throughout the 2014-2018 Term of Council. Results from the 2018 Citizen Satisfaction Survey revealed 97 per cent of residents agree the quality of life is good in Vaughan which is a powerful and encouraging indicator that the City is on the right track.

Articles also address the City’s commitment to keeping taxes low, encouraging environmental sustainability and supporting tourism in new and innovative ways. Special features in the magazine reflect upon Vaughan’s most valued attributes – an unmistakable spirit of generosity, a dedication to fostering art, culture and diversity, innovative libraries, and strong support for business entrepreneurs. A Council Q and A, as well as special features on Suzanne Craig, Vaughan’s Integrity Commissioner and Lobbyist Registrar, and Fire Chief Deryn Rizzi, provide a glimpse into their unique role in city-building.
