It’s time to talk about the budgets

Have your say in the 2018 property tax and water budgets

The City of Vaughan is encouraging residents to get involved in the budget process and help shape the future of Vaughan. This year, Council will discuss the Property Tax Budget and the Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Budget at the same time.

The Property Tax Budget is about the many programs and services families enjoy and rely on, and that includes garbage collection, snow clearing and fire prevention education. While the Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Budget determines how much residents pay for water, wastewater and stormwater, and identifies the resources needed to operate and maintain the City’s water related infrastructure.

There are many ways for residents to provide feedback and learn more:

  • Attend public meetings at Vaughan City Hall at 7 p.m. on Nov. 6, 13 and 23 or watch the meetings live online at vaughan.ca. A Special Council Meeting to approve the budget is planned for Dec. 11.

  • Call 905-832-8610 to leave a message that will be shared with staff.

  • Join the conversation on the City’s Twitter and Facebook pages using #vaughanbudget2018.
