Join a community walking tour in June
Learn about road safety measures coming to select neighbourhoods
Do you live in New Kleinburg, Sonoma Heights, Vellore Village, Carrville Corners or Lakeview Estates? Then you’re invited to participate in a community walking tour next month and speak with City of Vaughan staff about traffic calming measures coming to these areas as part of the Neighbourhood Traffic Calming Plan!
By joining one of these walks, you can discuss design options and speak directly with the City’s team about the pilot projects. A summary of the conceptual plans for each neighbourhood will be posted on the pilot project webpage following each walking tour for review and comment.
Advance registration is encouraged. Find your neighbourhood walking tour details and registration links below:

If you are unable to attend a walking tour, there are other ways to get involved:
Complete the online survey and mapping tool
Take an online survey and participate in a virtual mapping tool by Wednesday, June 14 to identify key areas where road safety improvements are needed or where you would like to see potential traffic calming measures installed. The survey will take about four minutes to complete. The mapping tool can be completed by area:
- New Kleinburg (Ward 1)
- Sonoma Heights (Ward 2)
- Vellore Village (Ward 3)
- Carrville Corners (Ward 4)
- Lakeview Estates (Ward 5)
Download SitePodium for project updates
Once the temporary traffic calming measures are in place, ongoing feedback can be provided through SitePodium, an app you can download from the Apple App Store or Google Play. This new and innovative platform provides real-time project updates and allows users to share their thoughts. Registration or a login is not required to use the app.

The Neighbourhood Traffic Calming Plan is aligned with MoveSmart, the City’s progressive Mobility Management Strategy, which directs the City’s vision to provide a transportation system that is safer, more efficient and sustainable. The Strategy was guided by input received from the public, which identified road safety and effective traffic management as top priorities to help meet the existing and evolving needs of the community.
