Many parents will spend the long weekend trying to get their children ready to go back to school and kids will spend it trying to soak in every possible last minute of summer. City offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, but there are many places in Vaughan to get out and enjoy the holiday:
Many parents will spend the long weekend trying to get their children ready to go back to school and kids will spend it trying to soak in every possible last minute of summer. City offices will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, but there are many places in Vaughan to get out and enjoy the holiday:
- Enjoy the weather at one of Vaughan’s 17 splash pads or the Thornhill Outdoor Pool
- Visit a local park or playground with your family and friends
- Pack a picnic and hike the trails of Boyd Conservation Area
- Learn about the environment and try out the natural playground at the Kortright Centre for Conservation
Before making your plans, check out the City’s facility closures:
- City of Vaughan municipal offices, including Vaughan City Hall, the Joint Operations Centre and Vaughan Animal Services, will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7
- Vaughan community centres and swimming pools will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7, with the exception of the Thornhill Outdoor Pool, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Vaughan Public Libraries will be closed on Sunday, Sept. 6 and Monday, Sept. 7
Residents are reminded that fireworks cannot be lit during this holiday.
