Lace up your skates, Vaughan!
The City’s outdoor ice rinks are OPEN for the season, weather permitting
It’s the most wonderful time of the year – so why not enjoy it on the ice! You can skate your way into winter on one of Vaughan’s four outdoor ice rinks, which are now open for the season. Please be advised Mother Nature has a role to play with the rinks safely reopening. Postponements or closures due to weather conditions will be posted to vaughan.ca/skate throughout the skating season. Registration is also not required to use the outdoor rinks.

Over the past few weeks, City of Vaughan staff have been working diligently to prepare the outdoor rinks for the community to enjoy this winter. Necessary preparations included setting up refrigeration plants at each rink, creating the ice and ensuring the surface is safe to skate on.
Open until March 2022, the community is invited to skate, for free, at one of the City’s five outdoor rink locations:
- Chancellor Community Centre (350 Ansley Grove Rd.)
- Dufferin Clark Community Centre (1441 Clark Ave. W.)
- Father Ermanno Bulfon Community Centre (8141 Martin Grove Rd.)
- Vellore Village Community Centre (1 Villa Royale Ave.)
- *Opening on Saturday, Dec. 4* Garnet A. Williams Community Centre (501 Clark Ave. W.)
Weather permitting, the outdoor rinks will be open daily until 11 p.m., except for Father Ermanno Bulfon which closes at 10:30 p.m. All rinks are also subject to daily closures for regular maintenance between 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at Chancellor and Dufferin Clark community centres, and on Thursdays at Father Ermanno Bulfon, Garnet A. Williams and Vellore Village community centres. Changerooms are not available for use, but washroom access is permitted. Picnic tables will be on-site for skaters to put on and remove their skates. Rinks are also unsupervised, unless otherwise stated in the recreational skating and shinny hockey schedule at vaughan.ca/skate.
For the enjoyment and safety of all skaters, citizens are asked to follow Skating Rink Guidelines (PDF) and abide by all York Regional Public Health COVID-19 safety measures, including physical distancing and sanitizing hands. Stay home if you are feeling unwell.
