Laurie Kroft is the 2024 Ward 4 Civic Hero!

During tonight’s Committee of the Whole (Public Meeting), Mayor Steven Del Duca, Ward 4 Councillor Chris Ainsworth and Members of Council recognized Laurie Kroft as the 2024 Ward 4 Civic Hero with a special ceremonial presentation. 

 

Laurie has dedicated more than 15 years to making a meaningful impact in Vaughan and beyond. She has been actively involved in schools throughout the community where she serves on parent-student councils, and is an engaged member of the Chabad Romano Synagogue. 

 

Laurie continues to work as a member of the York Regional Police Community Advisory Council to foster trust and open dialogue between York Regional Police and members of the community to help ensure everyone is – and feels – safe in Vaughan. 

 

As a board member for York Pride, Laurie has championed diversity, equity and inclusion in York Region and fostered a community built on respect for everyone. 

 

In addition to her many contributions, Laurie is an active advocate for the Mackenzie Health Foundation, working to enhance healthcare services for countless families in Vaughan.
