Apply by May 31 to join a City advisory committee

 

At the beginning of each Term of Council, the City of Vaughan recruits members of the public for City advisory committees to provide guidance to the Mayor and Members of Council. Recruitment for resident members is now open and the deadline to apply is Wednesday, May 31.

 

You can apply for the following advisory committees:

 

Age-Friendly Vaughan Advisory Committee

  • Chair: Regional Councillor Mario Ferri
  • Member: Councillor Rosanna DeFrancesca
  • Mandate: The Age-Friendly Vaughan Advisory Committee has an overall mandate to make recommendations that address older adult challenges and the promotion of healthy seniors in Vaughan. This includes recommendations on Vaughan’s Older Adult Recreation Strategy, Vaughan Age-Friendly Community Action Plan and programs and services that make Vaughan a more age-friendly community, where all residents can be active and engaged members of society at every stage of life.

Anti-Hate, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee

  • Chair: Councillor Gila Martow
  • Member: Regional Councillor Mario Ferri
  • Mandate: The Anti-Hate, Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee has an overall mandate to provide support to staff in the implementation of the City’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Plan and a forum for consultation, feedback and discussion on matters related to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and anti-hate in the city.

Transportation and Infrastructure Advisory Committee

  • Chair: Councillor Rosanna DeFrancesca
  • Member: Regional Councillor Mario G. Racco
  • Mandate: The Transportation and Infrastructure Advisory Committee has an overall mandate to encourage community involvement and advise on:
