Many free, fun-filled activities to enjoy on Family Day

Vaughan municipal offices closed on Monday, Feb. 18
 
With the recent chilly temperatures, you may be tempted to stay indoors, bundled under your warmest blankets this Family Day. Instead, why not venture out and turn it into a day of “chilling” with friends and family with the many free, fun-filled activities the City of Vaughan has to offer?
 
The City’s community centres will be open. In addition to regularly scheduled recreation programs and swim lessons, residents can enjoy free activities such as recreational skating, sports and fitness classes, plus access to games rooms and fitness centres. The City Playhouse Theatre will present The Paper Bag Princess, a musical performed by To Be Determined Theatre Co. on Monday, Feb. 18 at 11 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at vaughan.ca/CityPlayhouse.
 
Maple Library, Pleasant Ridge Library and Vellore Village Library will be open on Monday, Feb. 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All other Vaughan Public Libraries’ locations are closed and will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
 
Vaughan City Hall, the Joint Operations Centre and Vaughan Animal Services will be closed on Monday, Feb. 18 and will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
 
Waste collection will not be affected and will continue as regularly scheduled.
